Padded or upholstered headboards can interfere with the operation of your adjustable base and mattress. Although there are adjustments with the headboard brackets that can be made to increase the distance between the adjustable base/mattress and the headboard, you will need to ensure there's enough clearance allowed for the head section to easily raise and lower to prevent damage to your furniture. If you're unsure if your headboard is compliant, please check with the manufacturer. If adjusting the headboard brackets is not sufficient to provide the needed clearance, some modification to your existing furniture may be necessary.
