Do I need to remove slats before installing a power base?

Not always. The best setup depends on your bed frame and power base configuration.

If you're installing the power base with its legs attached inside an existing bed frame, the slats may need to be removed to allow the base to fit and function properly.

In some cases, a power base can also be used directly on a compatible platform or supportive slatted frame with the legs removed. If your setup includes slats, make sure they provide adequate support for the power base.
