My mattress feels softer than when I first bought it. Is it breaking down?

An aspect of memory foam is that it "breaks in" to your body over time, like a pair of leather shoes or a baseball glove. It is perfectly normal for the material to break in where you sleep and start to soften and condition in those areas. That is a very normal and desirable feature of the material. Some people expect memory foam to act the same way that a regular spring mattress does, and that is not the case at all. Our material will align your spine while you sleep, and provide your body with support while the material cradles your body.

Something to keep in mind is that Tempur-Pedic mattresses are temperature sensitive, so the higher the temperature, the softer our mattresses feel and vice versa. The optimal temperature for our mattresses is between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.
